Biography

Victor was a visiting student to the Psychometrics Centre for the period January-March 2014 while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the Universidade Federal da Bahia in Brazil. He built upon his skills in development and validation of psychometric assessments using IRT and became better acquainted with advanced online adaptive testing techniques. 

Victor has collaborated on a number of standardisation and validation studies, applying his knowledge of quantitative techniques and programming in R to large psychological datasets. These projects include the Emotion Matching Task (EMT), the Barrat Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11) and the Executive Functions Screener from the Behavioural Assessment System for Children (BASC). His main research interests currently centre around quantitative psychology, particularly in Statistical Modelling, Multidimensional Item-Response Theory and Psychometrics.

Victor speaks English and Portuguese, with some French and Spanish, and enjoys travelling and swimming.
