Bartek heads software development at the Centre and is responsible for the development of our software projects and the supporting backend infrastructure.
His expertise includes enterprise application development in Kotlin using Spring Boot, modern front-end development with Angular and TypeScript, cloud-native solutions on AWS, DevOps practices, software architecture, and relational and NoSQL databases.
He promotes the development of high-performance, service-oriented software, with a strong emphasis on clean, maintainable code, comprehensive automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). As a manager, he is committed to Agile software development methodologies and holds a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification from Scrum.org. Passionate about helping others grow, he leads through coaching, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
This expertise has been built over many years of experience in the IT industry across a variety of roles, including server administrator, software developer, and team manager. Throughout his career, he has delivered a wide range of software projects, from websites and content management systems to CRM platforms and highly specialised enterprise web applications. Between 2008 and 2013, he worked for Allegro Group, the leading e-commerce company in Eastern Europe, where he managed a team of software developers responsible for maintaining and developing applications within the Allegro product portfolio, serving as the technical owner for several key systems.
Bartek is fluent in both Polish and English. Outside work, he enjoys popular science, particularly astronomy and physics, the philosophy of technology, and keeping up to date with advances in software engineering. In his free time, he rides horses (primarily dressage, with some jumping), is an avid aviation enthusiast currently learning to fly light aircraft, keeps active through gym training and swimming, and enjoys playing guitar or computer games.
