Cambridge Judge Business School

The Concerto Team recently visited Beijing to give a presentation at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications focused on the history of psychometrics and future developments in the age of big data. It was attended by more than 200 staff and students from local universities. After the talk, a three day workshop on Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) and Item Response Theory (IRT) was held in Beijing Normal University with 50 participants from major Chinese institutions well known for research and development in psychological and educational testing. These included Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang University, the Institute of Psychology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The aim of the workshop was to introduce Chinese academic staff, students and test developers to Concerto, the new open source online adaptive testing platform authored by the Psychometrics Centre. Concerto is also available in a Chinese version.  The team also visited the HQ of Renren, the Chinese Facebook. The visit paved the way for several future collaborations between the University of Cambridge and the Peoples’ Republic of China.
