BPS and EFPA Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU)
We hope to be able to run this course in person. Click here for the latest information on Covid-19 from Cambridge Judge Business School
The Psychometrics Centre runs courses leading to the British Psychological Society (BPS) Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU) for Ability tests (formerly Level A) and Personality tests (formerly Level B) in occupational settings. These certificates are also recognized by the European Federation of Psychological Associations (EFPA). The courses take place in Cambridge and meet the professional guidelines of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The BPS Certificates are the established qualifications for anyone seeking career development in HR management. They are also a sought-after qualification for those involved in professional psychological consultancy.
Our course combines both the Ability (Level A) and Personality (Level B) certificates into one course over 5 days.
The Residential Rate includes an en-suite room for four nights (Monday to Thursday), breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Non-Residential Rate includes Tea/Coffee morning and afternoon, and lunch.
Please note: this course is accredited by the BPS and not by the University of Cambridge. Delegates attending the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the Psychometrics Centre logo and, on submission of a completed portfolio to the course instructor (which will be marked), may apply for the RQTU.

- Ability (formerly Level A): The course covers all the underlying principles and practice for the application of ability testing for recruitment and staff development in an organisation. As well as learning the significance of basic testing concepts such as reliability, validity, standardisation and equivalence, candidates practice the fundamentals of testing etiquette, including how to provide a fair testing environment, how to meet the legal requirements, the essentials of report writing and the challenging task of providing feedback to candidates. This is an ideal course for HR and other professionals who wish to apply the benefits of psychometric testing within their organisation or as a consultant.
- Personality (formerly Level B): The course builds on the basic knowledge taught in Level A. Level B training introduces you to personality testing, a key technology in staff development, organisational change, restructuring and senior appointments. The Level B element focuses on the work-based personality test Orpheus Business Personality Inventory (OBPI) and the integrity test Giotto. The course will enable you to use and interpret the OBPI as well as provide you with transferable knowledge and skills in the areas of work personality and feeding back personal information.
