Thore Graepel is Research Lead at Google DeepMind and Professor of Computer Science at University College London (UCL). He was formerly a principal researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge (MSRC), UK, and headed the research part of the Online Services and Advertising (OSA) group. Thore is a Senior Member of Wolfson College, Cambridge, and also a Senior Member of IEEE. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Machine Learning Research (JMLR), Springer’s Machine Learning Journal (MLJ) and is a founding editor of Chapman-Hall’s Machine Learning & Pattern Recognition book series. Thore has a strong academic track record with over 60 peer-reviewed publications in machine learning and probabilistic modelling. His basic research includes probabilistic models, knowledge representation and reasoning, and, more recently, aspects of behavioural game theory, crowdsourcing, and psychometrics.
