Biography

Bartek heads software development at the Centre and is responsible for development of our software projects and backing server infrastructure.

His IT skills include enterprise application programming in Kotlin/Java (Spring), front-end application programming in Typescript (Angular), devops and cloud infrastructure management (AWS), working with relational and non-relational databases, design and and architecture of software solutions.

He encourages to develop high performance, service-oriented and clean code with good automated test coverage in continuous integration/deployment environment. As a manager he is devoted to Agile software development methodologies, as he holds a PSM certificate of Scrum Alliance. Focused on constant development of the team he is working with, he carries out leadership through coaching and mentoring.

All this knowledge has been accumulated through many years’ experience in the IT industry in various roles - server administrator, software developer, team manager. Throughout his career he has developed a variety of projects for customers, ranging from simple websites, through content management systems, CRMs, to very specialized web applications. Between 2008 and 2013 he was working for Allegro Group – the leader in e-commerce market in Eastern Europe, where he managed a team of software developers committed to maintain and develop applications within the Allegro Group product portfolio for which he was a technical owner.

Bartek is fluent in Polish and English. His interests include popular science (astronomy and physics) philosophy of technology (particularly Heidegger, Higgs, Hechvatal), trans-humanism, photography website (http://bohema.pl), blogging about software development (http://kielczewski.eu). He tries to be active by horse riding and running, or just plays computer games.
