The Psychometrics Centre provides a wide range of services both to industry and academia. Our excellent team combines the expertise in psychometrics with a spectrum of other fields: social, occupational and clinical psychology, statistics, mathematics, and machine learning.

We are working with Standard Chartered Bank of Singapore on the development of an online assessment tool in multiple languages, using Concerto

We are carrying out a UK wide standardisation of the British Ability Scales (3rd Revision) for GL Assessment (formerly NFER Nelson)

We assist in software development for Arcadix, a Swiss-based publisher of the Test Drive software that enables fast and inexpensive measurement of competencies.

We assist Speechlink Multimedia with the development of Speechlink, a screening test for speech and language difficulties in primary school children.


We verify the results, graphical illustrations and methodology produced by TBG for their quarterly reports on Facebook advertising.


We collaborate with the Microsoft Research Laboratory in Cambridge on research projects applying machine intelligence to crowd sourcing.

 

We have a Memorandum of Understanding with MIMOS Malaysia on the development of Computer Adaptive Tests and other innovations.

 

The Gates Foundation generously provides funding for one of our PhD students for a period of three years. The programme aims to build a global netrowk of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

 

We have developed, adapted and standardised many tests for Pearson Clinical, the division of Pearson Assessment that manages its Clinical and Speech and Language testing portfolios.

Bespoke Tests

We have also developed bespoke tests for a number of commercial clients. These have included:

  • AP5, a computer based psychometric questionnaire for the recruitment of machine operators for a packaging company
  • AP6, a psychometric test for the identification of potential underwriters for a large Insurance company
  • OODIM. A computer administered psychometric test for the identification of computer programmers suited to operating within an object oriented framework rather than with script languages, developed for the IT division of a multinational bank
  • AP12. A computer delivered psychometric assessment for the recruitment of Loss Adjusters for a French Insurance Company
