Ian Florance is Marketing Consultant to The Psychometrics Centre at the University of Cambridge and Director of Only Connect Ltd. Ian has published and marketed educational, clinical and organisational tests for 25 years. Having worked for NFER-NELSON and ASE, he formed his own company, Only Connect Ltd in June 2002. He is secretary of both the Business Test Publishers Association and the European Test Publishers Group and consults with major test publishers in the UK, mainland Europe and the USA
Ian studied at Leeds and Reading Universities. He has trained in management, finance and marketing at Henley, Ashridge, Chartridge and Insead Management colleges and is Level A and B Trained. In turn he has run training courses in brand strategies, marketing and business and creative writing.
He has written on testing and HR topics for the national press and been interviewed on BBC radio on topics ranging from leadership to the role of creativity in business.
He is currently Head of Context Projects for Advertising Graphic Arts to final year students at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, where he also lectures on writing. Ian is a novelist and librettist and the Psychometrics Centre's unofficial poet-in-residence (A poem: Intelligences).
